Ugh -- initial experience with powder

"I just purchased Zhou Spirulina powder. First time using. What a messy product. Very fine powder - dark like charcoal -- disperses all over the place. No instructions on packaging besides "1 scoop" so I assumed I could mix with a glass of water. Doesn't dissolve! Gooey lumps even after attentive stirring. Because I'm not the queasy type, I drank it but it left a mess on the counter and in the glass. I'd appreciate any suggestions on making the taking of this product more appealing. Thanks."
